Blackburn manufacturer AluFold Windows is celebrating its first year at Whitebirk Industrial Estate after expanding its premises by more than 60% and growing to a team of 35 people.

AluFold Windows began fabricating aluminium windows and doors from its 56,457 sq/ft facility in August 2025. One year later, the business now occupies 90,700 sq/ft, following the addition of a dedicated uPVC facility and further space for increased production and a new despatch area.

The investment has enabled AluFold to expand its manufacturing capabilities and introduce a new range of uPVC windows and doors, manufactured exclusively using Eurocell systems.

Alongside its investment in the facility, the business has built a 35-strong local team and established a positive working culture centred around shared goals, collaboration and creating opportunities for people to develop with the company.
Managing Director Neal Addison says: “There’s a real positive energy within the business. We are one united team with a shared vision for success.

“The expansion of our facilities shows how much progress we have made in a relatively short time, but our people remain at the heart of everything. We now have a strong team working together to build a successful manufacturing business here in Blackburn.

“We’re incredibly proud of what the team has achieved during our first year in production. We have laid strong foundations for future growth and our ambition is to double the size of the team over the next 12 months, creating further employment opportunities.

“This first year is only the beginning. We’re looking forward to continuing to invest in the business, grow our manufacturing capabilities and build on everything we have achieved so far.”
The anniversary will be marked with a series of celebrations, recognising the team’s contribution and reflecting on a year of learning, building and growing together.

Backed by Leicester-based Unique Window Systems, AluFold Windows manufactures aluminium and uPVC glazing systems for installers and contractors across the UK from its Blackburn facility.
