GYS Innovation Awards winners 2025
Entrepreneurs behind ground-breaking agricultural innovations will be celebrated at the Great Yorkshire Show, to inspire new ideas for game-changing farming practices.

Entries are open until 11 May 2026 for the Great Yorkshire Show Innovation Awards across five categories. Finalists will be invited to showcase their innovations at the Great Yorkshire Show, with the award winners announced at the Show on Tuesday 14 July.

The GYS Innovation Awards are organised by the Farmer Scientist Network, which is supported by show organisers, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, to highlight new ways in which science and technology can find solutions and underpin innovation in agriculture.

Chair of the Farmer Scientist Network, Dr David George, said: “Adopting new technology is essential to help farm businesses operate as efficiently, resiliently and productively as possible. Investment in these solutions can underpin all sorts of benefits, from aiding a business to make significant savings in the long run to helping overcome labour pressures, admin and HR, and supporting first-class animal welfare standards. These awards celebrate all of this.”

The GYS Innovation Awards proudly recognise outstanding innovations across farming, machinery, agri-tech and rural sectors. The awards are open to all, with applications welcome from businesses, regardless of whether they have a trade stand at the Great Yorkshire Show.

The Award categories are:
Engineering Innovation Award
Digital Innovation Award
*NEW* Practical Farm Innovation Award
On-Farm Early Adopter of the Year
UK Agri-Tech Start Up Award

An overall winner will also be considered for the Champion White Rose Innovation Trophy at the Show, which celebrates entrepreneurs who are redefining the future of farming.

Last year’s overall winner was DeLaval Plus, an AI platform that extracts herd data and turns it into easy-to-understand insights to farmers make fast, accurate and actionable decisions.

Entries for the 2026 GYS Innovation Awards are open on the Great Yorkshire Show website here: www.greatyorkshireshow.co.uk/competitions – and close on Monday 11 May 2026.
